
Ordained in 1987, Pastor Sheryl began her pastoral ministry at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Bassett, Nebraska while also serving two small United Methodist Churches at Newport and Rose, Nebraska as part of a co-operative ministry. In 1992, Pastor Sheryl was called to serve as pastor at First Lutheran Church of Avoca, Nebraska.
Also ordained in 1987, Pastor Chris began his pastoral ministry at Trinity Lutheran Church in Papillion, Nebraska. In 1990, Pastor Chris was called to serve Immanuel Lutheran Church at Orum, Nebraska and Emmaus Lutheran Church at Kennard, Nebraska.
Having attended different seminaries, Pastors Sheryl and Chris didn't meet until after both were ordained and serving congregations in Nebraska. After Pastor Sheryl moved to Avoca their friendship grew and deepened and in 1995, they were united in marriage. In 1997, Pastor Chris accepted the call to serve Grace Lutheran Church in Cook, Nebraska.
Seeking an opportunity to serve together, Pastors Sheryl and Chris accepted the call to serve Messiah Lutheran Church in Aurora, Nebraska in 2002. Where Pastor Chris also served half-time at United Lutheran Church in Hampton, Nebraska.
Seeking an opportunity to be closer to their granddaughters, Pastors Sheryl and Chris accepted a call, in March 2015, to serve as co-pastors at Calvary Lutheran Church in Scottsbluff, Nebraska and co-priests of Holy Apostles Episcopal Church in Mitchell, Nebraska.

Pastors Sheryl and Chris enjoy reading, geocaching, traveling on their recumbent tandem bicycle and spending time with family especially their two granddaughters.
